Swim Admission Requirements
We have swim admission standards that we must follow in our pools for everyone's safety.
In accordance with the public health guidelines, the swim admission policy has changed from a parent/guardian bringing three children under the age of 15 years to two children only. Please refer to updated policy below.
Children 6 years of age or younger
- Children must be directly supervised by a parent/guardian at least 15 years of age, who is in the water wearing bathing attire, is within arm’s reach, and able to render immediate assistance.
- One parent/guardian who is at least 15 years of age may assume responsibility for up to two swimmers, requiring direct supervision.
Swim participants between the ages of 7 and 10 years
- Those who are able to pass the Facility Swim Test, must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at least 15 years of age that maintains visual contact and remains within the pool enclosure at all times.
- Those who are unable to pass the Facility Swim Test, must be directly supervised by a parent/guardian at least 15 years of age, who is in the water wearing bathing attire, within arm’s reach, and able to render immediate assistance.
- One parent/guardian who is at least 15 years of age may assume responsibility for up to two swimmers, requiring direct supervision.
- The ratio of can increase up to 8 swimmers, requiring direct supervision, if all children are wearing a lifejacket.
Swim participants 11 to 14 years
- Lifeguards reserve the right to administer our Facility Swim Test to any swimmers ages 11 to 14 to verify swim ability for 65m (middle and deep sections) and 25m deep end.
Wristband system
All children 7 to 10 years old will get a yellow wristband. If they wish to swim on their own they will need to complete a swim test with a lifeguard and swim across the shallow end of the pool without touching the bottom. If they can pass the swim test they will get a green band. If they do not pass they will get a red band and be asked to remain with a parent/guardian 15 years or over for the rest of the swim time within arm's reach.
