The City introduces new Weight Room membership and 55+ Pickleball Pass in 2024

Brantford, ON – The City of Brantford’s Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre is pleased to announce the introduction of a new Weight Room membership to the community and the Brantford Pickleball Pass for adults ages 55 and over. The Brantford Pickleball Pass is available to those aged 55 or over that renew or purchase a Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre Facility Membership in 2024. The Brantford Pickleball Pass allows unlimited access to scheduled pickleball programming at City facilities.

“After receiving feedback from the community, we are pleased to be able to offer more options and membership choices that meet their needs,” says Rick Cox, Director of Parks and Recreation, City of Brantford. “Our program staff are committed to providing innovative programs and services to support the health and well-being of our residents.”

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre Memberships

The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre continues to be the primary sports and leisure facility in Brantford. The NEW Weight Room Membership includes full access to a variety of state-of-the-art cardio equipment, weights and weight lifting equipment, change rooms and more. Pool Memberships include full access to scheduled swimming to enjoy length swimming, water walking, recreational swimming and change rooms. Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre Facility Memberships include access to scheduled swimming, weight room and a wide variety of over 40 land and pool fitness classes each week such as; Aquafit, Warm Water Workout, yoga, scheduled ice-skating, spin, stretching, cardio and strength training. In addition, this pass includes access to drop-in sports in the gymnasium to play a game of pickleball, badminton, volleyball and basketball.

The NEW Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre 55+ Facility Membership offers older adults access to scheduled swimming, fitness and skating offered at the Wayne Gretzky Centre at a reduced membership rate. Additional pre-registered programming is not included in cost of membership. New in 2024, purchasers of a Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre Facility Membership who are ages 55 and over will automatically receive a Beckett Recreation Centre 55+ Membership as well.

There are a wide variety of pass and membership term options available for the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre including daily passes, 10-visit passes, 3-month memberships, annual memberships and more. NEW 55+ Brantford Pickleball Pass

The Brantford Pickleball Pass offers unlimited access to pickleball programming at all City of Brantford facilities for one full year! This special pass is available to adults ages 55 or over and can be purchased when renewing or purchasing a Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre Facility Membership, for an additional $159.13 including taxes. The Pickleball Pass is only available to those aged 55 or over.

“The popularity of Pickleball continues to grow and the new 55+ Brantford Pickleball Pass allows members unprecedented access to our facilities for older adults to play,” says Cox.
